If you’re reading this now, it means you’ve got through Monday! Congratz on that woohoo!!
It’s also time for me to do a weekly wrap up and update you on everything I’ve blogged on for the past week with additional stuff I’ve found along the way.
1) I talked about social networking sites and using it on your mobile phone instead of the lappys on “Are we ever going to be socially Mobile in Singapore?”
This is a strong trend going on which I’ve been saying. Big companies are already moving into this. Reliance uses location based (Maps and locations of other users) apps with a social networking feel, an interesting direction to take.
Asurion is doing the same too, the same concept of sharing user generated content… Doesn’t take a genius to piece together how social things are gonna get on your mobile huh?
Now take Nimbuzz, a VoIP service that is trying to integrate everything social about the web together…
Mobifusion’s mEngiene 2.0 is another mobile app which, in their own words,
“By delivering the ‘snacks’ of mobile content mobile users want, mEngine 2.0 will transform the way people use and see their mobile handsets,” said Pavan Mandhani, Founder & CEO of Mobifusion. “mEngine 2.0 is an indispensable technology for all multimedia content for mobile phones.”
Aye, the agony of knowing all these wonderful developments to make mobile more than a socially vocal medium, but transforming it to the most personal medium to reach out to… Again the question begs for an answer, Will social networking go mobile in Singapore?
2) I have also talked about Sports 2.0. Pretty popular topic considering the number of search engine finds i had that linked it to my blog. Sports fans has always been about sharing. Remember how in ’99 when Man U scored those late late goals? Didn’t need words to express how that felt.
What better way to spread that feeling with social media. Sports 2.0 is growing, just take a look at the IPL… Pulse Live can coonect these 2 growing alternative mediums which are like Salt and pepper, coffee and cream,… (Yeah, Sammy Davis Jr, lol…)
What would be interesting would be to see an Olympics social networking site coming up. Broken up by different groups according to sports, countries, individual athletes… Man, what potential for getting your brand out there? Would this be considered as Ambush marketing? I’m itching to get an answer, somebody help me!!
Now that Priscilla has opened my eyes to know that there are PR agencies specializing in just sports, how exciting is that? Woohoo!
3) Then ROI on measuring the returns of social media. Asking the right questions of what do we want to achieve? Is this the right medium? Is that my target group? Ask those before plugging head in…. I gotta get that Groundswell book with all those case studies in it… There might be something there worth taking a look and seeing if the ROI here is enough to justify us using the medium for communications or marketing purposes…
4) Lastly it was just on authors and their use of social media tools… Wouldn’t that be great with Amazon’s Kindle Reading Tools?
I wouldn’t bore you too much with that, it was more food for thought which my brain was munching on…
I’ve got so many other things I wanna blog about!! But tmr is the fun one,. Yeah! It’s JUST FOR FUN TUESDAYS!!
See ya’ll tmr where we get to kick back and cruise into midweek!
